Bonzi is a quite picky about there only being one entry for each kid. Makes sense. The problem is that over the years, you can logon, enter a kid. Forget your login and create another entry, hence two records with the same child. There is a Member/Merge function, where you can type in a last name, but sometimes it doesn’t match.
What Bonzi is doing is matching the last name and then looking for same home address. In the Capitol Hill database, many of the early records have (000) 000-0000 as the phone number so they don’t match. Also over the years, people change numbers or use their cell phone. So here is the process for a hard merge:
# Goto Member/Verify and type in the last name and pray you only get one record for a kid
# If not, then go choose Find>Member and then for the duplicate records, double click. One will usually have an old last access date and the other a date for this season. That is August 2008 will be one and Feb 2005 will be the other.
# Goto Member/Merge and type in the last name and hope you find the name pair
# If you don’t, then look at the phone numbers of the previous records, copy the later dated home phone into the record of the child. The match should then happen when you merge again.
# You want to drag everyone, including parents to their respective records, so the old account goes away.
