Mac OS X Codecs

June 8th, 2007 · No Comments · Mac OS X

The Macbook Pro comes with quicktime, I normally use Zoom Player and the open source FFDShow for playing on Windows, so what do I do on the Mac. Well, first Quicktime does have a bunch of components like that from Divx and there is a shim to play “Xvid”:

Alternatively, you can use the Xvid binay that Nagelic has done and get the A52codec for AC3 support.

Turns out there is VLC as a Mac OS X player as well which I’ve used.
