With Bonzi, if you want to print out all the forms for your team and you are a coach with coach tools turned on:
# you can go to your team page which you access as an administrator at www.capitolhillsoccer.org/sam. # Since your tools are on, I’ve resent your instructions on how to access this by hitting update (I think).
# You log-in at the admin site with the same username and password that you used to register and then you can turn on or use your team pages.
# Follow the instructions/help given there.
# There’s a line to click on that will print out all the player forms or you can do which ever ones you need.
# If you want the players to do their own (they should have gotten one as an attachement when they registered, but that doesn’t always work), they can go to the club website at www.capitolhillsoccer.org, log-in, click on past registrations, then click on print forms.
# I find it is easier to print them all out and get the parent signatures at practice. Hold on to the forms for the season.

In email, here is what you do:
# Start Bonzi and click on the current league (for instance 2008 Fall Rec)
# Click on Find Participants button in QuickClicks
# Search for the last name of the coach, and make sure to select the coach radio button
# You should see that person’s history of coaching
# Click on the last link which is his or her current assignment
# The coaches detail now appears, scroll to the bottom, click Yes in the Paperwork section and press update.
# Now scroll to the top where you will see the section on Current Assignment and click on the team link.
# You should see the team page come up. Click on coaches tools for the appropriate person. You now have him paperwork on and the coaches tools on and have set the scope of all reports to just do this team.
# Now start Mail and copy the Email field into the message.
# click on Reports>Participants>Detailed Report so you can generate a list of unverified players you can send to the coach.
# Select First Name, Last Name and click on the unverified radio button and choose Run Report
# You should see the names of the players without proof of age verified. Copy that list into the mail message and also the names of any coaches without tools turned on.
# he will now know what he has to do to get all his kids verified and his coaches paperwork.

It is a little bit of a pain when you get a coaches form because the form only tells you the league (event in Bonzi parlance) and that it is boys under 10, but not the team name. You have to run a report first which is /Report/Coaches/Assigned Coaches and print out First Name, Last Name and Assigned To, then you can see the team.
You then go the the team tree and if the form is right, you click on Coaches Tools to turn that on and then click on the name to get the coach record and click on Paperwork click box.
Then the coach is set to go

If you have a series of audiobook CDs that you want to backup. What is the easiest way to do it. Well, you can use iTunes to back it up. You want to set it to use very small files. I normally go to iTunes/Preferences/Advanced/Importing and set it to MP3, custom with 32Kbps and 24Khz sampling rate. This can take a 6 CD collection that normally takes 3.6GB uncompressed or 700MB at high quality down to 100MB or so. The main issue I’ve found with iTunes is that it leaves with lots and lots of tracks (normally 130 tracks in a 6CD set). What I really want is a single 100MB file that remembers my position. However when I use MP3 Trimmer to glom together a bunch of MP3s, it doesn’t work. Something about how iTunes writes the files causes it just to play the first track and quite. Ugh.
I found that “Fission”:http://amoeba.com is a great MP3 editor and trimmer for making ringtones and cutting files up. This is great for ringtones as iPhone now support open ringtones. You use Fission to find what you want. it is lossless because it edits MP3 directly. Then you load into Garageband to product the .m4r files. Stick them into the ringtone directory of itunes and you are off.
But what if you have a bunch of Audiobooks on CDs. You don’t want things in five minute chapters, you want a few big files. Then you need something that does the reverse. Something that joins files. “MP3 Trimmer”:http://deepniner.net/mp3trimmer/ is more general purpose than Fission and appears to handle joining as well. Giving it a try now and it seems to work, but unfortunately, it isn’t writing MP3s right. While iTunes thinks it has a 7 hour MP3, it actually only plays 2 minutes that is the first segment, so the copy isn’t quite right. Too bad!
So in the meantime, I hope you have Parallels, I use the Windows program “MP3Merger”:http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MP3Merger/ to do MP3 joining and that works well.
A little complicated to join, but you essentially choose Tools>Join MP3 files or press CMD-J, this shows a window and you drag and drop the MP3s to be joined together. They alpha sort this by default, so pray that your files work that way
Seems to work fast and great.
