Dim Sum in Seattle (点心在西雅图)

The best place for Dim Sum (dian xin) on the East side is easy. Top Gun is our favorite. Sea Garden is also nice. But if you want to take the grandparents out in Seattle, where to go? Well, amazingly there are still just lousy local search for something like this. Citysearch has the most decent. It looks like O'Asian is the most popular. It looks new which is nice. At Fifth and AMarion so pretty close 206-264-1789. On the other hand, folks on that site like House of Hong's and I have to say it ain't that great.

Main problem is they don't take reservations and some folks think it is like P.F. Chang's which is sort of Chinese, but not the real thing. We finally went to Sun Ya. The main thing about this place was there is parking. I'd say it was OK. 3 out of 5 stars. Service was quick though.

The dim sum at O'Asian is good. It even meets Karen's Singaporean standards for good dim sum. We've been twice and the only thing to avoid is the Shrimp Toast (interesting cubist look, but way too oily).

The decor is a little odd for dim sum (the restaurant used to be a Ruth's Chris Steak House), but the seating is very comfortable. The only thing about O'Asian that makes me think P.F. Chang's is the decor.
