Well the Mac isn’t immunie to strange problems. At various times I’ve noticed syslogd (the logging daemon), the spindump and kernel_task all spinning at 100% cpu utilization. Not really clear what is causing it. In one case a flaky USB hub causes kernel_task problems which makes some sense.

If itunes finds the artwork for you, it never adds it to your MP3 files, so you have to Get Info and copy and past it. If you have art yourself, then you have to copy and paste them in. A little strange.

Like Windows, the Mac has lots of processes running. My current nemesis is something called mdworker which stands for metadata worker. That means nothing to me.
