AirPods not auto pairing

Wow AirPods are pretty amazing, just open up the case and put it next to your iPhone and it automatically pairs. It is supposed to allow any iCloud connected device to pair as well, but some reason this didn’t work on my MacBook Pro 2017. So off to the internet to see how to fix as documented by Apple Toolbox
The fix is to manually pair them, there is a small button on the case back, press it and wait for the LED inside the case to turn white. Now you can pair it like a normal Bluetooth device.
Not sure why it isn’t pairing as other things see to work, but there you go. The other fixes are:

  1. Login and out of iCloud, this may reenable auto sync of your devices so you do not have to manually pair them on your Mac.
  2. Make sure to open the case with the AirPods inside next to your iPhone or iPad.
