Kitchen things Toasters of all things – New apartment – quatrième partie

Well nearly done with things for a new things for a new apartment. So down to the short strokes. What about a toaster and other appliances. Of all these, the toaster is the most important. We use Cooks Illustrated (subscription required) for most reviews and cross check it with Fakespot against Amazon reviews.

Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven. If you have room for it, get a toaster oven. It is going to be way more convenient and useful. The Breville 800XL is great if you have the counter space. It is convection oven, it is an air fryer and you can even use it for slow cooking things. Cooks Illustrated loves it and at $250 it is crazy expensive but it lasts a long time and is very even in heating. It also gets good Amazon reviews.

Breville BTA730XL The Bit More 4-Slice Toaster. A bit more controversial. Also a top choice at Cooks Illustrated, this one is extra long at 15” and can handle really big bread which is common in the US. The Amazon folks found it somewhat unreliable though. It is also expensive at $95.

Cuisinart CPT-420 Touch to Toast Leverless 2-Slice Toaster. I don’t subscribe to Consumer Report anymore, but Rick and Kathy report that this is the top rated compact. It still supports bagels, but not the very long bread. It is $58 so not quite cheap, but has lots of elements for uniform heat.
